"Ang Pulo" sa Kilitisan, Calatagan, Batangas (Calabarzon region)

Not too far from Manila, have a look on how the people of Barangay Kilitisan look after the mangroves as a way to sustain the beauty of nature and in return, how these have enhanced biodiversity of the ocean life and increased  fish catch.  Mangroves provide ecological services from coastal protection to carbon sequestration.

Ang Pulo, otherwise called as Calatagan Mangrove Forest Conservation Park, is managed by a people's organization called TALIMUSAK - short for Tagapangalaga ng Likas Yamang Dagat Mula sa Kilitisan and offers educational and recreational activities like kayaking, birdwatching, boatriding, mollusk fishing, eco-tour for students, survival activities, snorkeling and many more. If you want to know more about mangroves or how you can support their programs, please contact angpulo2010@ymail.com or Mau A. Cudiamat  (09279087298 / 09081185964).
